TEACHING
The Illinois Institutes of Art, Morraine Valley Community College & Sanford Brown College
I have taught many courses throughout multiple departments and disciplines from Design Foundations to Graphic
Design and Media Arts & Animation. I have a strong familiarity with how the programs coincide and what their
individual objectives are. This has helped me work with students during registration and suggest the appropriate
classes for the term ahead.
DIRECTING & MANAGING EXPERIENCE
Art Director for Comm Arts & The Neighborhood Trader, Owner of Suburban Royalty Productions.
I have had multiple positions in management where I have been responsible for recruiting, staffing 100+ employees,
setting schedules, managing finances & budgeting expenses. Also, while managing in retail I was the head of one of
the Company's highest volume stores which continually smashed corporate expectations and topped national records in sales revenue.
ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
I regularly plan & attend faculty-dean touch base meetings, Student success, and club
meetings. I have also setup and planned workshops for student enrichment and advanced education. Some of the
workshops I have setup include advanced modeling techniques, incorporating particle systems, character creation:
Art Noir and many others. Additionally, I planned a cross-over Photo/Video journalism workshop bridging English,
Photography, Graphic Design and media art in a collaborative effort to build a successful story covering Lincoln
Park Zoos newest exhibits. While at the Illinois Institute of Art I have also participated in the recruiting and interview processes for incoming faculty.
STUDENT LIVING EVENT PLANNER
Co-planned a weekend trip to St.louis, which included volunteering time for fundraising to create a budget, itinerary, recruiting, promoting and chaperoning.
Club facilitator for our school’s Animation Club, and have helped plan meetings, projects, and fundraising. I also wear the hat for grill master.
I help work and run Ai Summer Studios, Ai After Dark, the Student Success Committee, Open Houses, and various school activities and functions.
I planned and directed our school’s film festival, Artimation, which was a student showcase of selected works screened at Hollywood Boulevard Theaters. I was able to get a great deal at a themed movie theater for the event, and promoted ticket sales to get a return on investment and to generate funds for the next one.
I am always trying to find fun events that add to the college experience and make it much more memorable and fun for the students and faculty. It is also a great opportunity to connect with students beyond the classroom, which has awarded me a greater amount of respect from the student body.
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
I fostered and implemented a new learning structure in the classroom called “Flipping the Classroom” and shared the pros and cons of this new instructional method with the rest of the faculty.
I also work with other colleges and compare and contrast the differences which has helped in problem solving and building a stronger program.
